Jason Aldean had a rocking 2011 with hit singles and today he’s celebrating the fruits of his success with six Academy of Country Music Award nominations, including Entertainer of the Year.
Jason sent a video to his fans via YouTube thanking them for all they did for him in 2011. Jason went on to say that “2012 is starting off pretty good.” He also urged his fans to “help a brother out” by voting for him for Entertainer of the Year by going to acmvote.com.

Jason is also nominated for Male Vocalist along with Album for “My Kinda Party.” He and Kelly Clarkson are up for Single and Vocal Event for “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” while Jason’s video for “Tattoos on This Town” is nominated for Video of the Year. The 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on April 1 at 8 p.m. Eastern on CBS.

Lady A Selling Out

Lady Antebellum is at a half-million and counting. The current CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year has already sold more than 500-thousand tickets for their upcoming Own the Night 2012 World Tour, and they haven’t played their first show yet. The tour kicks off Friday in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Darius Rucker and Thompson Square join them for the trek. Charles Kelley gives some of the credit for the advanced success to Darius. Lady A’s tour has had advance sell-outs at some of the biggest arenas in the country, including the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the Allstate Arena in Chicago, the American Airlines Center in Dallas, and the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dave Haywood points out that it hasn’t been that long since Lady A was driving around the country in Charles’ Jeep Cherokee and sharing hotel rooms. The group will be dancing their way onto the stage this winter, as their new single, “Dancin’ Away With My Heart,” is in the top 20 on the country radio charts.

Carrie wrote “Good Girl” the debut release from her upcoming album, with Chris DeStafano and Ashley Gorley. This songwriting team also gave Carrie two number one singles, “Don’t Forget to Remember Me” and “All-American Girl”

The new CD will be released later this spring. Carrie could up her Grammy awards tally next month to six. She is up for Best Country Solo Performance for “Mama’s Song” at this year’s Grammy Awards. The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will air live over CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 12th.

Keith Urban Talks About His Vocal Chord Surgery

GRAMMY Best Male Country Vocal Artist:…Keith Urban‘s young daughter Sunday Rose did not really understand when her father had surgery a couple months ago. Keith had a polyp removed from his vocal chord in November, and he says it was really difficult to explain to Sunday why he wasn’t talking to her.

One of the ways Keith compensated for his silence was to record some of Sunday’s favorite books on tape before he had the surgery. Then, when it came time to tuck her in at night, the singer would take the cassette player and the book and just turn the pages as the tape played. But Keith admits Sunday wasn’t too happy with that arrangement. He says she would reach over, push the stop button and say “Daddy, I want you to read it.” However, Keith can now read books to her once again. The singer has fully recovered from his surgery, and will be back on stage soon. His first performance will be at the Grand Ole Opry on February 3rd.
